I'm Dr Kate the Cat Vet .
And I am a feline veterinarian and am so passionate about teaching feline medicine to the world! I learned early on that feline medicine was not a strong focus in school and set about learning the specifics of our feline friends from the start. Since then I have spent my career absorbing everything I can about practical feline medicine and I have found profound joy in educating my clients and mentoring fellow veterinary professionals.
I truly love cats!

I practice feline medicine with a gentle, quiet care and very much enjoy developing life long relationships with my patients and their families. My patients fill my heart with so much joy - there is no question that I am doing what I was put on earth to do.
I am profoundly passionate about educating on feline topics and have written for several local publications as well as provided seminars for the public.
I received by Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in 2012 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and left my mark there by starting the Feline Medicine Club.
I also had the honor of receiving the American Association of Feline Practitioners student award.
And in 2019, I was deeply grateful to be recognized as the Canadian Small Animal Practitioner of the year.
When I am not enjoying my kitty patients, I am home with my hubby TJ, 3 children (Ava, Everly, and Dax), a lab x named Sasha, 6 cats (Jack, Johnny, Bear, Violet, Nora, and Olive aka Bean), and a legitimate jungle of houseplants.
Now, after more than 10 years of practice, I am slowing down and focusing on sharing my love and knowledge of feline medicine with my colleagues and cat owners across the globe.
I am a vet professional.
I want to make our feline patients visits easier and take pressure off the veterinarians in my practice.
